The Lexmark S 1625 Laser Printer: Right For You?
The Lexmark s 1625 printer will get the job done, unless your job is repeatedly printing book-sized projects throughout the day. If you are simply a small business owner who needs to print professional letters and documents, this will work for you. The Lexmark company is a respected company that broke off from IBM in 1991. It makes a revenue of about 5 billion dollars a year now, with products selling around the world. You doubtless have seen some of their products in offices before such as the Lexmark S 1625 printer toner cartridge.
The Lexmark s 1625 is a black and white laser printer made with the small business user in mind. It can take and withstand the output of a business. In fact, it has a duty cycle of up to 65,000 pages per month. Some huge operations might tax this limit, but this will be more than adequate for the small business owner.
It is also fairly compact and lightweight. While some more modern printers can be lighter, this model won't be too difficult to lug around the office at 42 pounds. It also isn't to large, being just over a foot wide and tall, and 19 inches deep.
The print quality is also clean and dependable. It has a max DPI (dots per inch) of 1200, which is more than enough for most business applications (in fact, you will probably be using it at a lower resolution). The laser printing of this printer will also be far superior to your current printer if you are still using Inkjet technology, and you're letters and documents will look more professional.
This printer suffers from a slightly slow print speed, however. It prints at a speed of about 16 pages per minute. If you demand a large output from your printer, or if your livelihood depends on how fast you can get your documents printed, this may not do it for you. Most small business users will be satisfied with what this printer can deliver, however. Another limitation to consider is that this printer only prints standard-sized paper. There is an optional envelope feeder available, however. Before you buy it. check to make sure you can find one if you need it.
This printer comes with a decent price tag, however. While it was pricey at one time, it now comes refurbished at around 250 dollars on many online retailers. It is out of active production, so it is easier to find these printers sold refurbished. The price is decent for a reliable printer, however, reported to be great at avoiding jams and printing smooth lines and graphics.
There are two types of toner available for this printer. Like most toner, it is pricey and can even run as high as half of the price of the printer itself. There is a regular Lexmark toner and a high-capacity version. My research indicates that the high-capacity toner only costs a little more and prints 17,500 compared to the 7,500 pages the ordinary toner makes.
You can still find this printer online pretty readily, along with this S 1625 toner cartridge, although the printers themselves are usually refurbished now. If you want a decent printer designed for the small-business user at a lower price, then this printer and Printer Cartridge might work for you. If you want more than this printer offers, sadly, you will probably be paying more. Lexmark printer toner is trusted worldwide.
