Samsung SF 5100 Printer Fax, Nothing To Complain About.

Appearance- The Samsung SF 5100 monochrome, laser, fax printer using SF 5100 printer toner cartridge is super cute and compact for a three-in- one device, measuring a rather slim 9×12x13 inches and weighing in at a very light 6 kilograms. Quality is definitely not compromised by the machines' very affordable price of US$400.00. A great long-term investment for both your office and home.

Media Handling- The machine has an 150 sheets input and 100 sheets output tray capacity. Media is fed at a 20 sheet capacity. The machine is a little fussy when it comes to paper size and type compatibility and will only accept A4, Letter and Legal sizes and in terms of paper types only plain paper.

Print quality- Samsung's edge enhancement technology makes every print on this machine a black and white piece of art. Overall print and image quality is absolutely perfect. Copies are produced at 300x 300 dpi at a rate of 6 pages per minute. Faxes are transmitted at a Speedy Gonzales pace of 6 seconds per page. Documents can be enlargement up to 130% and reduced as low as 50%. Only use Samsung toner.

Controls- Controls are uncomplicated and overall very user friendly. Large buttons are located at the front of the machine with a 7 language LCD display. On the other hand fax transmissioning can get a little complicated but this is only due to the variety of dialling options available. Option one is the normal keying in of the fax number and then pressing start/enter button. Second options is in the form of one touch dialling if the number has been previously stored or dialled and last but not least the third option is speed dialling option where previously added numbers can be selected.

Advantages- The machine is a real workhorse, boasting with super fast fax transmissions and copies at a mere 6 second per page. Reliability is the device's strongest feature with auto redial, priority transmission and transmission reporting as an added bonus.

Con's- The machines' paper trays are a bit of a problem. The input tray is very short and narrow and the output tray's design flaw impacts the way paper exists. Sent and received pages are not separated and are all sent to a paper tray at the bottom of the device. Another paper tray is present at the top of the machine. Luckily this tray causes no to few problems. Unconventional paper sizes or types can sometimes cause paper flow problems.

Expense- This fax printer is easily the greatest cost saver on the market. The purchase of the printer self is already a great investment when considering it's price and the toner saving when compared to inkjet machines. Once the machine is installed the real saving will start, with super comparative cost when comparing inkjet and thermal transfer to it's laser counterpart. Green Peace members will be very happy about the machines' power and toner saving features. These features are not only to the advantage of the environment but also your pocket. Consumers are in the clouds with Samsungs toner saving feature as this consumable can often cost you an arm and a leg.

Toner - Samsung SF 5100 toner is included with your purchase with a yield of 2500 pages at 5% coverage. However with a lower coverage percentage, up to 3000 print pages can be produced. Toner retails for US$62.00 to US$110, but rest assured that regular replacement will not be required, as it's estimated to last an approximate 8 months depending on your reproduction quality. Samsung printer toner cartridge is trusted worldwide.
